I wrote The Journey in memory of a very talented and sorely-missed friend, who died unexpectedly and far too young in May 2021. His funeral was in the tiny Norman church of St Andrew in Chilcomb, just outside Winchester, and I played this piece to accompany him on his way.

At the ceremony, instead of flowers, donations to the Oxfam Emergency Fund were invited. With that in mind, a minimum of £2 for each copy of this piece sold will go to that fund.
