There's definitely something to be said for hockey matches: the idea for the main part of this piece came to me while I was waiting in a curiously deserted school music department for some pupils to arrive. The girls never did show up because they were out on the sports field somewhere (as I discovered later), so I used the time to get the notes down on manuscript paper.

Originally, I wrote it as a duet, which I published in 2014, but a lot of people since then have asked if it was available as a 3-part ensemble... ...so here it is.

I wonder if the sports teachers will ever know how much of a debt of gratitude we owe to that hockey match...
