This album follows the idea of playing openly with traditional melodies and musical structures. Some of them were recorded as completely spontaneous manifestations, others were composed and arranged beforehand. The recordings for this album were made during nighttime in St. Vitus Church, Heidelberg, between September 1996 and February 1997. "I was alone with my harp, the room, as well as the medieval statues in the walls, the ancient arcs. The whole scenery looked at me, and at times, the silence between the notes seemed louder and more powerful than any sound." With special thanks to my parents, Rev. Aiwin Schneider, and all who promote the spirit of these instruments.
The instrument is a combination of a traditional Celtic harp and a modern harp. It uses high-performance semitone levers to be able to play a selection of modern music - and was there also some Jazz...? Additionally, on some tracks (4, 5) a Gothic Harp is used.
