Oran nan Eilean (Music of the Islands) is based on two Hebridean melodies, opening and finishing with Long a Leumraich (The Leaping Galley) an air from Harris, with the middle section based on an air from Eriskay H-Eadaraibh a h-uinn O.

After the popularity of the duet arrangement written for my pupils Catriona and Rhona who won the Duet competition at the National Mod in Stornoway in 1989,1 have written this version for solo clarsach or pedal harp which I used for my summer course in Edinburgh in 1999.
