The Autumn term at school and preparations for Christmas began in earnest learning a cornucopia of beautiful carols to be sung by all the girls from the youngest to the oldest.

When I reached the dizzy heights of the senior choir, I played a larger part, singing descants galore. The joyful impact this made on me reveals its legacy every year when Christmas music is, for me, one of the season's greatest pleasures.

This piece is an arranged miscellany of some of my favourites, and a thank you for that legacy.
