Preface
The present publication is a free arrangement of the "Concerto per il Cembalo di Carlo di Dittersdorf, 1779" (State Library, Berlin). The editor was induced by harp players to arrange this familiar and well-liked cembalo concerto for the harp because of the scarcity of original works for harp and orchestra.
The editor has tried to give his arrangement of the solo part a specific harplike texture, showing the possibilities of this instrument to its advantage. Aside from that, he added violas, 2 oboes, and 2 French horns to the orchestra which entailed some changes in the distribution of the material. He also wrote the cadenza of the second movement, and added the last fifteen measures to the final movement (left unfinished in the original score).
Duration: 20 minutes
