Alaw075: Fantaisie Over Nackens Polska

Fantaisie Över Näckens Polska
Anton Edvard Pratté (1796-1875)
Edited by Delphine Constantin-Reznik

Cover imageThe Nacken is an important figure in Scandinavian folklore and represents a male water-spirit playing "beautiful silver tones" on a golden harp or violin. Unfortunately, the only aim of this spirit is to lure the listeners, through this enchanting music, to drown in lakes and streams... The "Nackens Polska", inspired by this folklore, is a traditional dance in 3/4 time from western Sweden.
