INTRODUCTION
This volume is the first in a new series from ALAW. It is intended for harpists who wish to extend their knowledge of the traditional repertoire from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales: such music is part of our heritage and for that reason has instant appeal. These arrangements could easily be used as a source of background music for functions – in my experience these tunes are often requested. They are suitable for both pedal and non-pedal harp: fingering is provided for easy reading. I have enjoyed making these arrangements for the harp and hope that this book will give pleasure to players and audiences.
