Composer, pianist, concert organizer, and teacher, Jason White earned a BMUS in composition at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2004, after studying with Peter Hatch and Glenn Buhr. He is active as a vocal accompanist, music director for various musicals and operas, and as a freelancer for various other musical productions. He frequently appears throughout Ontario as a jazz pianist, either as a soloist or in his band, the Jason White Trio.
Jason is the recent recipient of a 2004 Kitchener-Waterloo Arts Award in the "Leading Edge" category. He is in high demand as an educator and maintains a full teaching schedule among his other projects. Past projects include music for various theatrical settings and a piano concerto, as well as music for several short films and documentaries. His works for soloists, small chamber groups and large ensembles have been performed in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario.
