Eleanor Harries was born into a musical family, whose love of singing she inherited. It was no surprise when, years later, she entered the Welsh College of Music and Drama to study singing and piano. After three years at the college, she was awarded a bursary from the Welsh Arts Council to further her studies. Eleanor has performed several operatic roles and given numerous song recitals both home and abroad. She has also recorded a selection of the Ancient National Airs of Gwent and Morgannwg, collected by Maria Jane Williams of Aberpergwm. For many years, Eleanor has enjoyed a successful career in the teaching of singing and has held the posts of vocal tutor at the University of Wales, Swansea and the Cathedral School Llandaff, Cardiff. It is particularly hoped that 'Let's Sing Some Songs' will bring fun and enjoyment to young singers. |
