Notes & Credits

Notes

The starting point of my musical development was initially the classical period of the "Wiener Schule"(the Viennese School"). Later on it was supplemented by jazz, free improvisation, folk and medieval elements. My compositions arise from improvisations and from playfull experimenting with new sounds and techniques on the harp. During such times, a chord or phrase may take hold of me so that I have to play it over and over again, or improvise until a complete piece is developed.

Moving from within typically describes my style of composing. I mainly let myself be guided by intuition and my inner ear. Each piece has its idiosyncrasy.
For instance, Meditation developed in this manner during a workshop with David Darling. During the daily morning practice hour, connecting myself with the harp, I suddenly got stuck with two chord sequences whose sound fascinated me tremendously.

Meditation expresses my basic musical desire to guide people with repetitive chord decompositions and timeless monotony towards submersion and absorption and so allowing them to get in touch with their inner selves.

Kolibri developed during an expressive dance workshop where I tried to feel for the four elements fire, earth, air and water musically. During this process the air element gradually developed very easily and dynamically. The Kolibri symbolizes the speed and lightness of flying. Through repeatedly returning circular movements it can reach spheric heights and so find completeness within itself.

The theme of Deep Inside was there suddenly during an intensive practicing session which opened up new sounspaces for me. I carried this theme with me for a long time until one day I was able to very easily and effortlessly find the final version.

Deep Inside moves between passionfree, eternally and invariable(or Constant), emotionally excited and passionate elements. From this contrast develops a lively, thrilling dialogue.

Wish you a joyful musical journey.
