Mercedes Ramirez was born in Asuncion, Paraguay and took up classical guitar at the age of 7. She studied with Prof. Jose Maria Gomez and later with Narciso Colman and Luz Maria Bobadilla. She also studied folk guitar with Carlos Candia and Gladys de Candia. At 14 she took up the Paraguayan harp and studied with Prof. Marcial Guerrero and later with Jorge Aquino and Heriberto Leguizamon. She took formal music lessons at the Municipal academy of Music in Asuncion and later at the Association of Paraguayan Composers (A.P.A) school. She has performed extensively as a soloist in Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil.
Miguel Angel Ramirez was born in the city of Luque, Paraguay.He started playing the harp at the age of 9 taking lessons with Prof. Marciano Mereles and later with Heriberto Leguizamon. He also took classes with Hector Baez. He completed music studies at the Emilio Bobadila Caceres Music School of the Association of Paraguayan Composers (A.P.A.). He is a member of the artistic and cultural department of the Ministry of Defence. With his harp he has visited many towns and cities in his country and has performed in Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Argentina, Belgium, France, and England.
