Evelyn NallenRecorder player Evelyn Nallen made her BBC debut at the age of 9, and her remarkable skills span early, baroque and contemporary music. She's had works written for her by David Bedford and Carl Rutti, and has given concerts all over the world. A glorious recorder player" THE HERALD, MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA
'Jazz Record Requests' BBC Radio 3
"A dazzling fusion of old and new musics, played with understanding and virtuosity, and further stretching the musical boundaries of jazz." Patrick Johns
'The Guardian'
" ..recorder virtuoso Evelyn Nallen..can play fast, improvised jazz with admirable control of timbre and intonation..pushes the supposed technical and timbral limitations of the instrument to spine-tingling extremes..she can swing, and she can play a simple tune sweetly, with little embellishment..the recording exploits the delicacy of the sounds they use, particularly Tatsuhara's inventive cymbal-work." John L.Walters
'Jazzmatazz' BBC World Service
"This new album goes to prove that using instruments associated with the musical past is no barrier to producing interesting contemporary jazz." Alyn Shipton
'Independent on Sunday'
"Sparkling style and boundless imagination." Phil Johnson
'Early Music News'
"Wonderful concert, brimming with musicianship and excitement, bringing together the best of the worlds of baroque music and jazz." Mark Argent
David GordonHarpsichordist David Gordon also has an established reputation as a jazz pianist and prize-winning composer. He has played with saxophonist Andy Sheppard, the English Consort, and regularly works with Jacqui Dankworth
Ichiro TatsuharaIchiro Tatsuhara left Japan aged 18 to play drums in the USA. Drawn to the UK he has played with Captain Sensible and P J Harvey as well as many top jazz groups. With influences from Africa, Cuba and Ireland, he is a unique percussionist.
Oli HayhurstDouble bassist Oli Hayhurst is one of the most solid and exciting young players to emerge from the Royal Academy of Music in recent years. He has built up an impressive CV, having worked with artists ranging from Paul McCartney and Melanie C to jazz saxophone gurus Martin Speake and Gilad Atzmon.

The four players are leaders in their fields, and in their other activities range from French baroque dance music, to tango to club scene and indie rock music, which provides both a global perspective on their music and a distinctively English flavour. Together they provide a dazzling array of colours, textures and moods, and play a wide variety of music from medieval to innovative improvisation, all tailored to suit their distinctive sound.

Respectable Groove have played at many of the UK's major concert halls, including the Purcell Room, St Martin in the Fields, the Barbican Centre and two of the UK's leading festivals, Brighton and Henley on Thames. In addition, they have performed live on BBC Radio 3, and their music has received frequent airplay on national radio. The group tours Switzerland for the first time in June.
